Status: CoverageJSON

Progress in the last month:

• CoverageJSON Specification:

  • JSON schema progress:
    • JavaScript visualisation library supports 8 out of the 12 currently-defined domain types
    • Grid, Point, PointSeries, VerticalProfile, Trajectory, MultiPolygon, PolygonSeries and MultiPolygonSeries
    • Polygon, MultiPoint, MultiPointSeries and Section not yet supported, but would be easy to implement based on existing code
    • Additionally the library supports visualisation of collections of Points and collections of VerticalProfiles.

• Outstanding Issues:

  • responses to TC Vote - all closed except first, portmanteau, issue of multiple parts
  • left over Issues from CovJSON repo - most closed

• Outstanding Pull Requests:

• Compliance Test Suite: *JSON schema tool implementation

• CoverageSWG coordination:

• Update other Documentation on GitHub:

Plans for next month:

• Corrections: Version 1.0.x nnothing planned
• Outreach:
  • Met Office hackathon: Climate Data Challenge 2022: 4th & 5th May + pre-meet on 28th April

  • responses to TC Vote - all closed except first, portmanteau, issue of multiple parts
  • left over Issues from CovJSON repo - most closed
  • normative references to ISO8601 are actually to the preferred IETF RFC3339
  • use of time zones rather than UTC ('Z') to be reviewed by Mark H
