Known issues

  • Compiling source code on latests Solaris SRU versions using gcc 13 may result in broken vmxnet3s driver. A kernel panic will occur at system startup if you use such driver. Compiling with older versions using gcc 11 is OK. Provided binaries in this release have been compiled with gcc 11.2.0. Still investigating on this issue...

Removed vmware word from package name, filenames and SMF services names to comply with licensing as this is not a VMware project/product

You can still use pkg update to upgrade the package from previous versions. It will replace the old named package with the new one.

Configuration is still in the /etc/vmware-tools/ directory as this is the product default on all UNIX target platforms
