now adds 1 to all timespans so 2 years (span of 1) will be a weight of 0.5 as the true probability for each year (after hint by Christian Gugl)
added an option to directly calculate the cumulative weight (which displays a warning if it is used with a stepsize of more than 1, because the cumulative weight does not mean anything in that case.)
This reverts commit 35c2e6e.
