• OPTIONAL: Study "The Linux Command Line" book. Free, 537 pages.
• OPTIONAL: Certification exam: LPI Linux Essentials

Part II - Linux System Administration

Estimated Length: 1 month full-time

Choose Track A or B or C, or do all three for maximum certainty.

Track A: Linux Foundation

• Essentials of System Administration (LFS201) 40-50 hours $499 for course + exam

Track B: LPI

LPI Linux LPIC-1 and CompTIA Linux+ Prep from cbtnuggets.com 15 hours, 72 videos

Certification: LPIC-1 (LPI Linux Server Professional) exams 101 and 102

Track C: Red Hat

• Red Hat System Administration I and Lab (RH124 and RH124L)
• Red Hat System Administration II and Lab (RH135 and RH134L)
• Certification exam: RHCSA (Red Hat Certified System Administrator) (included at the end of RH135)

Part III - Introduction to Computer Science (can be done while working)

Introduction to Computer Science (CS50x) 100 - 200 hours
