In the default routers serial and parallel, there are two slots which are used for pre (p1) and post-processing (p2) audio.

These are 'special' since they do not (as of writing) receive notes or control. also in the case of the parallel router, all chains audio is passed into the post processor.

note: really 'special slots' only contain this functionality because of how they are assigned in the router modules - and so this can be altered. the above is true for the factory parallel and serial routers.
