This plugin adds the Jibauni, the Diba, and the Sheragi as a plugin for the free open-source game Endless Sky. More information about each species/faction is available by clicking on the links.
You will never be able to be on the Diba side. Diba lore is basically some random Alpha decided to leave in his fancy Carrier, stopped in Jibauni space, stole whatever he wanted (a Jibauni Oracle) and left to build his own robotic fleet and completely destroy all of the Navy ships he loathes so badly.
The Jibauni will probably have the biggest storyline. They started about 2000 years before the player starts his/her journey. The Sheragi (see below) invaded them about 800 years before the player begins, and they have been fighting the Rebel Jibauni ever since then. They have also been attacked by some strange pink alien ship who kidnapped one of the Oracles, who are a (going to be) main element of Jibauni society. Humans would be paranoid about this, but the Jibauni are still welcoming-though they do so with wary thoughts. In addition, they have been attacked by Heliarch ships jumping in to mine asteroids, and have stolen a translation device from one of them.
There is no established lore reason why the Sheragi still exist, so I made one. That reason is that they were fleeing from their civil war, and because they were going at sub-light speeds, they only met the Jibauni 800 years ago. Being driven off in a 100 year long war, they went a bit longer and only settled their planets 300 years ago.
The Heliarch are only in this for profit. They have figured out that there are valuable asteroids in Jibauni space. They jump in, figuring that they are powerful enough to decimate any Jibauni ship that attacks. They are basically correct.
I have not yet added an official credits.txt file, but @Petersupes made the Sheragi images except for the Particle Shielding; @comnom made the ramscoop and fuel pod; Ferociousfiend made the non-Daltaq generators; @Amazinite made the star, Small Laser, and Zarwal Turret; @TheronEpic made the Jibauni Shield Generators and the Tiny Bunk Room; @Makuta-Miras made the Jibauni Anti-Missile, Medium Laser, and Zarhal Turret; the rest are from Shields Up.
Contributions are welcome! As the README says, currently the most-needed help has to do with making ship sprites and outfit images. Look here to learn more.
