Vrinda Sales Dashboard using Advanced Excel

Overview

This project involves creating a comprehensive sales dashboard for Vrinda Store using advanced Excel techniques. The dashboard provides insights into customer behavior, sales performance, and other key metrics for the year 2022. The ultimate goal is to help Vrinda Store understand its customers better and identify strategies to boost sales in 2023.

Objectives

The primary objective of this project is to create an annual sales report for Vrinda Store for the year 2022. This report aims to provide valuable insights into customer demographics, purchasing behaviors, and sales trends, which will guide decision-making and strategy development for 2023.

Key Questions Addressed

The dashboard was designed to answer the following critical questions:

  • Sales and Orders Comparison: How do sales and orders compare on a single chart?
  • Monthly Performance: Which month recorded the highest sales and orders?
  • Customer Demographics: Who purchased more in 2022—men or women?
  • Order Status: What are the different order statuses in 2022?
  • Top Performing Regions: Which are the top 10 states contributing to sales?
  • Demographic Insights: What is the relationship between age and gender based on the number of orders?
  • Sales Channels: Which channel contributed the most to sales?
  • Product Categories: What are the highest-selling categories?

Insights Obtained

The analysis provided several key insights:

  • Customer Demographics: Women are more likely to make purchases compared to men, contributing to about 65% of the sales.
  • Regional Contribution: Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Uttar Pradesh are the top three states, contributing approximately 35% of total sales.
  • Age Group Contribution: The adult age group (30-49 years) is the most significant contributor, accounting for around 50% of the orders.
  • Sales Channels: Amazon, Flipkart, and Myntra are the top-performing channels, contributing roughly 80% of the total sales.

Final Conclusion: To improve Vrinda Store's sales in 2023, the focus should be on targeting women customers aged 30-49 years, living in Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Uttar Pradesh. Promotional efforts such as ads, offers, and coupons should be primarily directed through Amazon, Flipkart, and Myntra.

Project Steps

The project was executed in the following steps:

  1. Data Cleaning: Identified and handled null values, blanks, errors, and removed duplicates to ensure data accuracy.
  2. Data Processing: Prepared the data for analysis by introducing new columns and categorizing existing ones to make the data more readable and useful for chart preparation.
  3. Data Analysis: Conducted in-depth analysis using pivot tables and charts, leveraging advanced Excel features.
  4. Building Dynamic Dashboards: Developed an interactive and dynamic dashboard that visually represents the sales data and insights obtained.
