Options include:

  • Calling quick2D/save for __repr_png__, interact2D if we define a IPython widget version
  • A "pretty" version of print_tree (perhaps with latex formatting)
  • Latex formatting axes/expressions (could use the label field directly)

@ksunden has pointed out that xarray has found _repr_html_ useful
pydata/xarray#1627
