Persistent identifiers

A persistent identifier is a long-lasting reference to a document, file, web page, or other object.

ARKs are open, mainstream, non-paywalled, decentralized, persistent identifiers that identify anything digital, physical, or abstract. More then 8 billion ARKs have been created by libraries, data centers, archives, museums, publishers, government agencies, and vendors.
