Fedena LTS Project

Fedena hasn't received any updates for the last 7 months and no activity from the core team to merge fixes. I tried many times to get in touch but got no reply. So I decided to fork this project and name it Fedena LTS. The project is hosted on https://github.com/joneslee85/fedena and now is under heavy development. My team of 4 are working to improve fedena quality by:

  • Latest Rails 2-3-stable security fixes
  • Bundler support
  • Ruby 1.9 support
  • more test coverages

This is just a prep-step for a long-term objective, that is porting fedena to Rails 4. We are calling for contributions to give this fork project a push and hope to receive feedbacks. Many thanks

Nice initiative. All the best.

Please note that there is a problem with relicensing the Apache code in MIT. You can't fork and relicense an Apache 2 to MIT. http://stackoverflow.com/questions/8440506/forking-and-re-licensing-apache-2-into-mit-possible

The original code should be in Apache with copyright & attribute to Project Fedena.

@foradian thanks for pointing it out, I''ll switch it back to Apache2. Besides, I love to merge all changes back to official repo if I am granted with the access

is anything going on with this wonderful project?
some of us cannot wait to see something going on.

As I've told in different post before, we are now focusing on a new rewrite of the project. I hate to say this but there won't be any updates soon, at least in 3 months. I hope Fedena would continue open source their latest version and more open to the community, I guess it's too much to ask from them. If you could help LTS, can you contribute patches?—

Hello, how is the progress with the project? I might be able to help.

I'm sorry to join the party at this late hour. The readme says

The project is now declared dead. We failed to attract enough interests, plus there is strong competition from the official Fedena wit their updated codebase

Where is this updated codebase? It seems to me they are both dead?
