On theme-mapper resources, embedded fonts and anonymous users

What is the theme-mapper doing for anonymous users on a Plone site? And why are some "glyphicon" fonts being embedded in the stylesheet - in multiple varieties even.

I don't know it in detail, but it should not be included anywhere else but on theme editor by default. It's huge, because it's supposed to be standalone (so that it's hard to break the theme editor).
