Rapid Insert Plugin for Figma

Rapid Insert is a plugin for Figma that simplifies the prototyping process by allowing users to quickly search for and clone components from other pages within the same file and insert them directly onto the current page. This eliminates the need to manually copy and paste components, saving time and increasing efficiency in the design process. Rapid Insert is intuitive and easy to use, making it the perfect tool for streamlining your workflow and boosting productivity.

How to Use

Using Rapid Insert is simple:

  1. Install the Rapid Insert plugin from the Figma Plugin Library.
  2. Open the Rapid Insert plugin and select the source page from where you want to clone the component.
  3. Type in a search query or navigate through the components.
  4. Once you have found the desired component, hit enter to insert it directly onto the current page.
  5. Repeat as needed to quickly prototype your design.

You can also use the keyboard shortcuts to quickly access the plugin, navigate through the components, and select them.

Running the Plugin Locally

If you would like to run the plugin locally or modify the source code, you can follow these instructions:

  1. Clone the repository to your local machine using git clone.
  2. Install dependencies using npm install.
  3. Build the plugin using npm run build.
  4. Open Figma and go to the "Plugins" menu.
  5. Click "Create a new plugin" and select "Link existing plugin".
  6. Choose the manifest.json file in the build directory of the plugin.
  7. The plugin should now be available in the "Plugins" menu.
