nutch 1.18

Hi there.

This is great work. I have it working on Nutch-2.4 (Feb 2021).

Question: why would such an important plugin such as this not have been integrated into the 1.x stream?

Is there any way to make this work with Nutch-1.18

This was actually based on a Nutch 1.x plugin, so you can probably track down the original. There used to be a PR for adding 1.x support, but it never got merged as I personally had no need for it and didn't want to have to maintain it.
I remember it not being a huge deal to port, if you want to go that route, but I won't be able to help you as I haven't maintained this project for 8 years now and have no clue what's going with Nutch.
