So far, I have not been able to identify the cause of the IE9 incompatibility. It seems to be something in the Skeleton framework (though not an incompatibility because it has been tested in IE9). Or maybe so. See http://www.getskeleton.com/#support.

I wonder what percentage of browsers currently hitting the site are using IE9?

My sense is that IE9 is still pretty common. But I just can't see anything
in the css that would cause this phenomenon. I wonder if we could do some
browser detection or something...

I'm heading down to London but I'll try to have a look at the Analytics when I get back so we know how serious it is - IE9 probably is annoying persistent in the types of institutions our audiences are in.

I just had to submit a letter of recommendation for a student applying to
the University of Texas at Austin, and the system told me to try a browser
other than IE9. We are not alone...
