Is there a way to programmatically define GraphQL fragments?

It's a bit tedious to build out the schema.yml file and then essentially have to translate the same thing to individual GraphQL fragments just to make querying a little cleaner. Especially on sites that are primarily page-based, is there a way to streamline this so the schema.yml can be the source of truth?

For example, by having the following in schema.yml:

- type: Page
  fields:
    title: String

Could I then have a fragment automatically defined as:

fragment PageAttributes on Page {
  title
}
