Things to do:

Respond to "How are you today scrappy?" / "Scrappy how are you today?"
Respond to "How are you tonight scrappy?" ...
Respond to "How are you this afternoon scrappy?"
Respond to "How are you this evening scrappy?"
Add advanced persistent state, changing randomly to give scrappy various moods (happy, excited, sassy, melancholy, etc.)
