ty_trans_int_z is incorrect - see COSIMA/access-om2#220

The only thing affected in this repo is
https://github.com/COSIMA/ACCESS-OM2-1-025-010deg-report/blob/master/figures/strait_transports/strait_transports.ipynb
which should be rewritten to calculate the corrected ty_trans_int_z

The Kuroshio transport values on p426 of the GMD paper were calculated from ty_trans_int_z and are therefore incorrect.

The only strait transport calculations in the notebook that use ty_trans_int_z are:

  • Lombok Strait: so fig 18b (and therefore the total in fig 18a) are incorrect
  • Bering Strait (not mentioned in the paper)
  • Denmark Strait (not mentioned in the paper)
  • East Taiwan Channel (see above - this gives the incorrect Kuroshio transport)
  • Florida Strait: transports discussed on p427 are also wrong.
